Neural stimulation for dry eye enters FDA clinical trial phase.

In the United States alone, moderate and severe dry eye disease afflicts nearly 5 million individuals over age 65, and many more suffer from less-severe cases. Dry eye symptoms range from mild itchy irritation to severe eye pain and occurs when the eye does not produce tears properly, or when tears are not of the correct consistency and evaporate too quickly.
